My Story
Wilson is a self-taught photographer whose passion starts with his father's old Canon L (Leica mount) Rangefinder camera. Since then, he has taken photos with Canon EOS film cameras, various brands of digital SLRs, self-assembled 35mm compact cameras & twin-lens reflex cameras, LOMO camera, Fujifilm S5 Pro and the X series.
He was also involved in product reviews, including camera product testing with Singapore's leading English newspaper The Straits Times' Digital Life weekly IT magazine that includes cameras from Leica, Sony, Ricoh and Panasonic Lumix. He is currently a gadget and imaging reviewer for Techngoondu.com, a premier IT news and reviews site started by former Singapore IT Industry veteran journalists.
Some of his works are published in calendars, and exhibitions both local and overseas, such as Causeway EXchange, selected as Nikon Editor's choice and highlighted by Huawei using their latest Smartphone Camera. His work was also used in Sport Singapore’s commemorative book on the 2015 SEA Games where he was the lead photographer for the hockey tournament at Sengkang Stadium.
He was also one of the first photographers to be selected as Fujifilm X-Photographers for 4 years and was invited to take part in Samsung’s NX Traveller Program to Australia in 2014 and then to Korea in 2015 as a mentor photographer. StarHub also picked his travel photos in Australia and Japan for their advertisement campaign.

Passionate in photography, he was the founder of the now 13000+ strong Singapore Photography & Imaging Network (SPIN), a founding member of the National Trade Union Congress Youth Chapter's Photography group 20/20 and Monash University's Photography Club at Caulfield Campus, where it grew to become the second-largest student group after the Student Union.
He is also the master imaging trainer for various brands, including Vivo, Huawei and Oppo. Wilson now helps with organisations such as the women's group WINGS, and Singapore After Care Association to rehabilitate ex-offenders through imaging.
The one genre that Wilson is interested in is travel photography - street photography, food, candid portraiture, and landscape. He has taken part in familiarisation trips conducted by tourism organisations worldwide and is involved in content creation for Hotels and Resorts in the region, including the Genting Group. Wilson was also heavily involved with Food and Photography trail organisation with Tourism Office in Hue, Central Vietnam.
He organises photography photo walks in Singapore and overseas trips to under the WilzWorkz's "Travel Thru' The Lens" Series, where he blogs his trips at WilzWorkz.com. His experience in Tourism helped him in being a more effective Administrator for the 29000+ strong VisitSingapore Facebook group.
