As you guys know I am a Lytro camera trainer for Singapore and so part of the job is to know what new things are coming to the Lytro near you. As of today, the Lytro Desktop has added a new way to view the life pictures on top of focus shifting: perspective shifting.
Now the pictures, using the data from the old Lytro pictures, can recreate the photos in such a way that the picture can be shifted left and right or up and down. It works well with pictures that have multiple depths such as the picture I took over at Gardens By The Bay, Singapore.
To play with it.
Click anywhere in the frame to refocus
Double click to zoom in
Click anywhere, hold the mouse button and move the picture around by dragging the mouse.

Boy I love firmware updates (that means one don’t need to buy new camera just to enjoy a new feature)!
