Shooting for Changi Recommends One Singapore Competition & Bruce Kuhn Retelling of the Gospel of

Hectic day it is today! First it was a visit to the Arts Science Museum to look at the 50 best photos of National Geographic (yes Steve McCurry Afghan girl/woman is there) and got myself enrolled into the Negative to Print Workshop (I missed the Negative processing workshop) and having a blast of a time rekindling the dark room techniques again – Developer / Stopper / Finisher…those were the days. Will be planning something on this with the photography groups and hopefully with a plastic Holga type toy camera. Look out for details soon!

After which meet some of the guys to shoot street for Changi Recommends One Singapore Competition. Towards the end of tour de Orchard Road, we went up to ION Sky Loft to shoot the street below. What we didn’t expect was the fantastic sunset being presented as we stepped out of the lift at the 55th floor. Gorgeous sunset indeed!! If we are at the right place and at the right time, coincidence has nothing to do with it! PTL!!

Orange Galore with the sun peeping through the clouds.

The sun went down and the orange and blue merges well into the evening. Shot with X-E1 with Tokina 11-16mm F2.8

The surprise of the day. The full burst of red and orange fills the sky as the sun relinquish its hold of the evening sky. Beautiful.

The ION Sky Loft. Really nice place. Will come up for a drink soon!

It was a great end to the day, but what of the night? I hopped on to Bruce Kuhn’s retelling of the Gospel. When you have a Broadway actor, reciting scriptures and acting the characters out, what you have is not a boring recitation but a dynamic, action packed, presentation of the Gospel in full delight (add a bit of humour). If Bruce can keep me awake after a day of shooting, that means HE IS GOOD!! He will be doing the Book of Acts later today 18 August 2013 Sunday over at The Arts House at 8pm. Something not to be missed!

If your faith is as small as a mustard seed…

The parable of the prodigal son…and the Gracious Father. I think the parable is titled wrongly. It is about the Father ultimately…and forgiveness.
